Kacy Pflugner joined Walsh Banks Law shortly after its inception in 2015.
As paralegal, Kacy provides day-to-day legal support primarily to the managing partners, but assists all firm attorneys as needed. Kacy is the consummate paralegal with extensive experience in complicated and multi-faceted litigation.
She is skilled in all phases of the process, from initial case review and due diligence to high volume document review and production to preparation for mediation and trial.
As office manager, Kacy oversees the day-to-day administrative functions of Walsh Banks Law’s Downtown Orlando office, and assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration staff, programs and practices within the firm; and she maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing.
Kacy grew up in the Midwest, and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Under the guided pre-law program there, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, as well as a Certificate in Business Foundations from the Kelley School of Business. After graduation from IU, she made the decision to make the move to Orlando, Florida.
Taking time away from her focus on law, she spent the next 15 years growing her family and working in the Destination Management Company industry doing corporate event development, and as operational field staff. In her time in Orlando’s DMC industry, she developed a high degree of organization, adaptability and competency to fluidly meet the diverse needs of clients. Those skills have served her well as she transitioned back to the legal field.
Ready to turn her focus back to law, Kacy obtained a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She has since worked as a paralegal exclusively for boutique business law and commercial litigation firms, and with Walsh Banks Law serves as both paralegal and office manager. With her extensive education, training and work experience, Kacy obtained and holds the designation of Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP), as certified by The Florida Bar.
When her schedule with work and three active teenagers allows, Kacy is actively involved in community advocacy. She has volunteered with intake and community outreach with the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, and currently serves as participating member and volunteer Legal Observer for the Central Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida.
